# Unsigned contributor assignment template

**Status: template only — not executed.**

This file is a blank form the first-party owner may print or copy and complete **privately** with a contributor after independent legal review. It is **not** a signed agreement. Publishing it does not mean any contributor has assigned rights. The repository does not store executed copies, wet-ink signatures, or a roster of unknown signers.

**Sign privately; posting a PR is not assignment.** **Do not “sign” this by opening a GitHub pull request.** Eidovara does not accept copyrightable contributions through issues, suggestions, or PRs until Tyler Michael Bosworth gives prior written approval **and** both parties execute a separate written agreement appropriate to that material. Platform terms that apply to material posted on GitHub remain independently applicable and are not a substitute for this assignment. See [CONTRIBUTING.md](../CONTRIBUTING.md).

### 1. Contribution

“Contribution” means the copyrightable material described below, including source code, documentation, artwork, configuration, and related original expression, whether submitted privately or (after approval) incorporated into Eidovara:

### 2. Assignment

Contributor hereby irrevocably assigns to Owner all right, title, and interest in and to the Contribution, including copyright and any registrations or applications covering it, throughout the world, for the full term of protection (including renewals and extensions). Contributor retains no ownership in the Contribution except any license Owner may grant in writing.

To the extent a right cannot be assigned, Contributor hereby grants Owner an exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable license (with right to sublicense) to exercise all such rights, including reproduction, preparation of derivative works, distribution, public display, and public performance.

If applicable law treats the Contribution as a work made for hire in favor of Owner, the parties intend that result; the assignment in this section is a backup if work-made-for-hire does not apply.

### 3. Moral rights

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Contributor waives (and agrees not to assert) moral rights, rights of attribution or integrity, and similar rights in the Contribution, solely as needed for Owner to use, modify, license, and commercialize Eidovara. Where a waiver is not permitted, Contributor consents to Owner’s reasonable uses.

### 4. Patents

If Contributor owns or controls patent claims that would necessarily be infringed by the Contribution as incorporated into Eidovara, Contributor grants Owner a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to those claims solely to make, use, sell, offer to sell, import, and otherwise exploit the Contribution as part of Eidovara and official unmodified releases. This clause does **not** represent that any patent exists or has been filed. It does not grant a patent license in Eidovara as a whole beyond the Contribution.

### 5. Representations

Contributor represents that: (a) the Contribution is original to Contributor or Contributor has authority to assign it; (b) it does not knowingly include confidential information, credentials, personal data of others, or third-party code Contributor lacks rights to assign; (c) Contributor is at least 18 years of age; and (d) executing this assignment does not violate another agreement.

### 6. Third-party and public-domain material

Material Contributor does not own (including Electron, Chromium, Node.js, Windows components, Wikimedia content, and other third-party or public-domain material) is **excluded** from this assignment. Contributor will identify any such material in writing before execution.

### 7. No GitHub acceptance

A pull request, issue, or uploaded patch is not acceptance of the Contribution and does not transfer ownership. **Sign privately; posting a PR is not assignment.** Owner may decline the Contribution. Only a fully executed copy of this form (or another written agreement Owner accepts) plus Owner’s written approval authorizes incorporation.

### 8. Further assurances

Contributor will execute documents reasonably requested to evidence or record this assignment, at Owner’s expense, without representing that any government office will accept them.

### 9. Governing law; miscellaneous

If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. This template creates no obligation until both parties have signed a private original.
